Tutorial : Triangular negative space nails

- Apply a base coat to smooth the surface of your nails and to prevent them from staining.
- Paint your index, major and pinky in blue, or any color you wish. For best results, make sure the surface is opaque and smooth.
- On you other fingers (thumb and ring finger), use striping tape or any other tape in your possession (ie. masking tape) as a guide for the two triangular shapes pointing each other. Keep it as symmetrical as possible.
- Fill both triangles with the same color, you might want to apply a generous amount to only use one coat.
- Remove the guides and let everything dry.
- Cut short pieces of striping tape to contour the triangles, this will add a little dimension and shine to your design.
- Carefully follow the borders of your nail and cut off the excess.
- Finish off by applying a top coat, I used a mattifying one for a pastel matte look. This will seal and smooth the design. If needed, you can add another coat to securely seal the tape.
